Theresa Caldwell, MIS, is a multi-faceted trainer and public speaker who incorporates movement and listening experiences into her work sharing the importance of trauma-informed/trauma-responsive care and resilience-building. She is a Certified Trauma Professional, Certified Listening Professional, and Certified Group Fitness Instructor. She is co-author, with Samuel Griffin III, of Rent-A-Cop Reboot, and co-author, with Imani Harris-Griffin, of Safety Seal and the Helpful Numbers. She is married with one son and two step-children.
Janaé Matthews
Illustrator
Janaé Matthews is a self-taught illustrator and graphic designer based in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. She loves bright bold colors, whimsy, and exploring the hidden worlds within imagination. Janaé’s skills range from branding, custom typography design, email marketing, logo design and art direction, to concept art and character design. Janae’s current projects include helping cultivate Church of the Redeemer graphics and visual identity, as well as developing and training graphic design volunteers. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Communication Design from Stevenson University, and she has almost a decade of experience in professional design and illustration. When she’s not creating, Janaé can be found traveling, discovering hidden gem food spots, gaming, or spending time with her family.
Imani Harris-Griffin
Co-Author
Safety Seal and the Helpful Numbers co-author Imani Harris-Griffin — writing with Theresa Caldwell for Leumas Publishing — holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from SUNY New Paltz, where her love of writing first took root, and later followed her passion for food to culinary school in New York City. Imani lives in Virginia with her husband, Samuel, and their daughter, Bella — whose imagination and creativity helped inspire the beloved character of Safety Seal.
Daniel L. Smith
Author, When A Jailbird Sings
Daniel La’Mot Smith’s love of words began in 9th grade when he encountered Emily Dickinson’s poetry. His writing fully ignited during his incarceration from November 1995 to September 1996 — he wrote poems about love, family, life, and the realities of incarceration behind bars, including poems for fellow inmates to send to their wives and girlfriends, on scraps of paper, notepads, and even toilet paper. A few years after his release he self-published his first poetry collection, This Is Who I Am: A Collection of Eclectic Love Expressions, selling more than 500 copies to friends and family. Now, more than 25 years later, he returns with a new collection drawn from archived poems: When A Jailbird Sings.
